I founded Blue Harbinger to help you manage your own investments. Self-directed investing is NOT for everyone, but for those of us who enjoy it, there is great satisfaction in learning, implementing and silencing the doubters.
Prior to founding Blue Harbinger, I was a multibillion-dollar fund manager for a private pension and an associate portfolio manager (on the institutional active growth equities team) for a large bank in Chicago. I left to become an independent small business owner. After founding Blue Harbinger (in 2015), I also founded a private investment company (Herrick Lake Investments, 2021) to manage accounts for those who choose NOT to do what we do.
I hold an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a BS in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
On the personal side, here is the view of the desk in my office where I write most of the content for Blue Harbinger. I greatly prefer the natural sunlight through the giant window in my tiny office over the politics and hot air of working in Corporate America. Because at the end of the day, investing is about achieving the freedom to live how you want.
